Community groups

Bridges is proud to host a wide range of activities. We hold a number of initiatives which are designed to benefit and fulfil the needs of our local community.

Some of these include Social Circles, which support the elderly with various activities including a cooked lunch. We also hold other activities such as a Tea Dance. This is a totally inclusive and intergenerational weekly activity enjoyed by older people, including those with dementia, carers, adults and children.

You can find a range of the activities provided to our community below.

Social Circles

We support the local older generation by offering two social sessions a week, with varied activities. Social Circles offers its users a regular (and in many cases their only) opportunity to meet others and enjoy a cooked lunch. Social Circles is the successor to COMIC, part of Bridges since it started.

Bridges Car Scheme

The bridges community car scheme offers friendly, flexible, door-to-door transport for people who require additional support getting to local shops, social activities or appointments.

Dance Time 4 All

A totally inclusive and intergenerational weekly activity enjoyed by older people, including those with dementia; carers, adults and children; people who are lonely; people who want to get fit, enjoy dancing and want to exercise. Our Tea Dances are supportive, therapeutic events where carers can feel at ease about the participation of those they care for.
