Wye Knots Yoga runs Mindfulness Yoga classes in Monmouth, South Herefordshire and the surrounding area.

 

The emphasis of Mindfulness Yoga is on tuning into the physical experience of the practice, and awareness of the breath. We do mostly static asanas, and simple mobilisations, with the occasional flow sequence as well. Some mindfulness meditation is also incorporated, and every session includes a period of yoga nidra (relaxation), which can be the most beneficial part of the practice.

We usually run courses of 6 weeks, and there is also a drop-in rate, for people to pay for just one session (by arrangement, depending on available space). The courses proceed at a fairly gentle pace and are suitable for those with a little or a lot of yoga experience. Beginners are welcome to come along, although if you have a group of friends who want to try yoga for the first time, please get in touch and we can organize introductory classes separate from the regular class.
Some poses and practices are more challenging, but there is no pressure to do any more than the body is ready for, as the emphasis remains on awareness of how the body is at the time of practice.
