Spirit of Monmouth Running Club raises £1,000 for Bridges Centre through Kymin Dash
The organisers of the Kymin Dash have presented a cheque for £1,000 to Bridges Centre following this year’s popular community race.
The donation was raised through entry fees from the annual event, which sees runners of all ages and abilities take on the challenging route to the iconic Kymin overlooking Monmouth. This year’s race attracted runners from across Monmouthshire and beyond, with participants tackling the climb to the Kymin in support of local community causes.
The cheque was presented to Ben Ford, Events & Marketing Manager at Bridges Centre, by representatives of Spirit of Monmouth Running Club, organisers of the Kymin Dash, outside Drybridge House.
Ben Ford said:
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone involved in the Kymin Dash – from the organisers and volunteers to every single person who laced up their running shoes and took part. Community events like this do much more than raise funds; they bring people together and show the incredible support that exists for Bridges Centre.
“The £1,000 raised will help us continue supporting people across Monmouthshire through our wellbeing services while we work towards reopening more of Drybridge House following the flood.”
Barry Burns from Spirit of Monmouth kymin Dash said:
“We’re delighted to be able to support Bridges Centre. The charity plays such an important role in our community and, following the devastating flooding late last year, it was an easy decision to choose them as one of our beneficiaries. We’d like to thank everyone who entered the race and helped make this donation possible.”
Although much of Drybridge House remains closed following the devastating flood of November 2025, Bridges Centre continues to deliver its wellbeing services across Monmouthshire while working towards a phased reopening of the building.
The donation is the latest example of the remarkable support shown by the local community since the flood, helping Bridges Centre continue its work while plans progress for the phased reopening of the building.
