Our Trustees

Bridges is guided by a committed group of volunteer trustees who provide oversight, experience and strategic direction to the charity. Together they ensure that the organisation remains focused on its mission, operates responsibly, and continues to respond to the needs of our community.

Our trustees bring a wide range of professional skills and lived experience, supporting the leadership team while helping to shape the future of the charity. Their role is to safeguard the long-term sustainability of Bridges and ensure that the work we do continues to make a positive difference across Monmouthshire.

Mark Walton, Chair of Trustees (past Centre Director)

Mark’s background was in teaching, beginning at the Royal Forest of Dean Grammar School and later at the Royal Forest of Dean College, where he became Vice Principal. He also spent time as a volunteer teacher in the Solomon Islands and Sierra Leone.

Mark served as Centre Director at Bridges from 2007 to 2019, a period he regards as the most fulfilling of his working life. He joined the Trustees in 2022 and was Co-Chair with Ann Rosser for several years, before becoming Chair in November 2025, just prior to the devastating flood.

He remains very confident that Bridges will recover as successfully from this as it did following the prolonged Covid closure.
